Gladiolus - The -us ending makes it a possibility for boys (think of Augustus).
Linden - Both boys and girls are given this name.
Lotus - Both boys and girls are given this name.
Lucerne - This could either be shortened to Luke or Lucy.
Rowan - Both boys and girls are given this name.
Sage - A relatively common name for both boys and girls.
Valerian - This really screams boy to me, but the similarity to Valerie makes it seem like a possibility for girls as well.

ReplyDeleteLavender, Lilac and marigold are names I'd consider using, and Bluebell and Sunflower would make lovely middles.
I saw a baby boy named Aster in last week's birth announcement; somebody commented on a boy being given such a "feminine" name, but to me it seems quite boyish, like the surname Astor.
I knew a couple of botanists who named their twin girls Heather and Erica. You had to know your plant names to get the joke!.
